Sure, not every episode of the show has been a home run (looking at you, Pooka), but there have been some real hits in there as well. Lots of new talent is being discovered on these episodes, including lots of diverse talents behind the camera, and those kinds of opportunities are important. Enter Songbird, a new sci-fi thriller based on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This wraps up the current cycle of Into the Dark on Hulu, and I, for one, would love to see it return. I absolutely adore anything that has to do with Lycans, so this episode is right up my alley.

It becomes increasingly dragging and you just keep asking yourself what the real intent of the overall film really is. Having said that, I do feel the actors in the main story – K.J. Its a very amateur romantic drama that focuses more on the interpersonal communication between characters as they struggle through the changing times.

And, honestly, this part of Songbird feels a lot like a movie from the 1990s with one-dimensional bad guys and a street-smart guy that will do anything to save his girl. The main storyline is essentially a romance story. Also, this part of the movie didn’t feel as forced or heavy-handed as other storylines. These storylines offered many relevant takes on how people from different walks of life are forced to live under a pandemic. Also, I found myself invested in the one with Alexandra Daddario ( We Summon the Darkness) and Paul Walter Hauser ( Calls on Apple TV+). Muddled, tedious, and uninspired, Songbirds gimmick never coalesces into a meaningful story about. Especially the one with Demi Moore and Bradley Whitford ( Get Out). Songbird features several interesting smaller storylines that I really enjoyed. From music to movies to a multiple music videos, Sofia Carson did a little of everything amidst a crazy year, including a new movie about the COVID pandemic.
